“ What a find! Found this place while searching for food when we visited Pearl Harbor Memorial. It was slightly hard to find but the food was worth it. Not only was it delicious but it was filling. If you look at the photos, the rolls rise above the container! Even better news is that it’s because the filling/center is PACKED AND it’s delicious. Flavorful and filling? Sign me up again. If we go back to Oahu, this place is a must visit again for my wife and I. Also the ?owner / man in the front was so nice and friendly. ”
“ A gem. Location is not great but the food more than makes up for it. Huge portions. Fresh fish. Friendly owner. Highly recommend ”
“ This sushi spot is an absolute hidden gem! Tucked away under a covered parking garage, it might be a bit tricky to find, but it's well worth the effort. The sushi rolls are huge and packed with flavor. The Dragon Tears roll was a standout—simply delicious! Fresh ingredients, great presentation, and a unique atmosphere make this place a must-visit. Highly recommend for any sushi lover looking for something special! ”
“ The best sushi on Oahu by far! The value is unbeatable and the fusion style leads to having some of the most outstanding tasting rolls you can get. Additionally, the family that runs this shop is immensely friendly and Makoto's is an absolute staple of the local community. I've ate here most of my life and don't ever plan to stop. ”
“ Makoto sushi is the place to go if you want the most bang for your buck and for delicious rolls. Ive literally never had such large rolls at an amazing price especially on island before. The filling is huge but the rice is so small. Definitely need to check this place out!! ”
“ One of my favorite sushi spots! When visiting from the mainland this is a must. We ordered the spicy sunset and blue hawaii this time, absolutely delicious. We can't wait to come back! ”
“ Best sushi I’ve ever had. Great price for the quality AND quantity. The rolls themselves are huge. The fish is incredibly fresh. 100% worth going to. All 8 rolls we tried were phenomenal with their pairings (fish, sauce, toppings/garnishes etc - every combination was great). Wait time was not too long at all for such a big order! No seating inside the establishment but there are a few tables outside! Did not have any issues finding a parking space. ”
“ This is a literal hole in the wall, easy to miss in a covered parking lot near the McDonald’s. There’s outdoor seating, pretty much right in the parking lot. Food quantity is high and the sushi rolls have some of the lowest ratios (in a good way) of rice to non-rice. The fried food was very good, not too greasy with a great crunch and the food tasted very fresh. Service was exceptionally friendly. The nice man that took our order and served us even brought out some free bottles of water for us. I love finding places like this that feel like it’s locals, for locals. ”
